“Contractor” to provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to perform Earthwork: Excavation, Filling & Grading Services including but not limited to the following work at various facilities, countywide per specifications: 1. Clearing and grubbing of roots and stumps and other materials. 2. Fill and grading for play fields, football practice fields and other grassed areas. 3. Preparing sub-grades for slabs-on-grade, foundations, walks and pavements. 4. Excavating, backfilling and compaction for utilities systems. 5. Excavating, backfilling and compaction for buildings and structures. 6. Perform rough and finish grading utilizing laser guided equipment to achieve required elevations. All work shall be done by the bidding entity. The successful bidder shall not subcontract to others for work or services performed during the term of this contract unless prior, written authorization from the Maintenance Department has been obtained. When the services of a sub-contractor(s) are required due to time constraints and/or workload generated by the District, prior approval of that subcontractor must be obtained from the Maintenance Department. If the use of a sub- contractor is approved, it shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor to regulate and guarantee work. The contractor is also responsible to pay subcontractors’ expenses at no cost to the district. The Contractor is responsible for all payments, invoicing and documentation of their subcontractors. Pinellas County School district will NOT be held responsible for ANY subcontractors’ contract (i.e. payment, to subcontractor, awarding work to subcontractor, etc.).
