Notice of Intent Sole Source- AGFA US CorpThe United States Coast Guard (USCG) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) award to AGFA US Corp, Address: 10 South Academy Street, P.O. Box 19048, Greenville, SC 29602. This procurement is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR parts 12 and 13.The purpose of the acquisition is to renovate the existing radiology room within the medical clinic at USCG Cape May, upgrade the hardware and software of the existing x-ray unit, and train the service personnel who will be using the DXD 400 High Frequency Radiographic System Suite unit currently located at Cape May NJ. The unit was transferred from Air Station Boriquen clinic to Cape May. AGFA is the manufacturer of the unit with factory trained technical service personnel and authorized installer. AGFA also has the proprietary rights for the software needed to upgrade the system. The installation and upgrade of this unit at Cape
May will help to decrease excessive cost in the care and treatment of recruits needing x-ray services along with the unit already in place just needing to be upgraded.This action is being taken in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this notice. This notice serves as both a synopsis of the requirement and public notice of the USCG's intent to sole source.Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. If the Agency does not receive an acceptable response to this announcement by the specified date, negotiations will be conducted with AGFA as the only source and a delivery order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.As a result of this notice, a separate award notice or further public notices shall not be made.
