Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. An organization that is not considered a small business under the applicable NAICS code should not submit a response to this notice. This requirement is assigned North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334516 with a size standard of 1000 employees. As a result of this Sources Sought Notice, the NCI may issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ). THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. However, should such a requirement materialize, no basis for claims against NCI shall arise as a result of a response to this Sources Sought Notice or the NCI's use of such information as either part of our evaluation process or in developing specifications for any subsequent requirement. The Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology has several projects that require a fast and sensitive microscope for performing live cell imaging. High-speed image capture often requires the use of a spinning-disk confocal system equipped with multiple detectors. Specifically, it needs a light microscope confocal system with the capability to image live cells in 3 channels simultaneously with high resolution (diffraction limited resolution of 250 nm resolution for fluorophores emitting at 525 nm in fixed cells) for experiments on activation of T cells (best done with 3 sCMOS cameras), to visualize single molecules in live cells at least two simultaneous channels for experiments on localized mRNA (best done with a back-thinned sCMOS camera) equipped with a chip splitter) and to image at least two simultaneous channels at high resolution in live animals for experiments on membrane remodeling (either camera system). The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology (LCMB) plans to procure Nikon multi-camera X1-based spinning disk confocal microscope system. The Contractor shall meet the following product features/characteristics for this requirement:1.
