Contractor's Equipment InsuranceThis insurance contract is primarily intended to provide coverage for LEASEDmobile machinery, mobile equipment, construction vehicles, and heavy machinery if property insurance is requiredby a rental company before the equipment can be rented. Construction equipment, such as bulldozers, backhoes, and similar equipment, are the most common items covered; these items are easily transported from one location to another and cannot be covered under the terms of a traditional property insurance policy. This insurance covers some of the risks unique to mobile equipment, such as transit and theft exposures. In accordance with subsection 287.022(1), Florida Statutes, state agencies are not authorized to purchase insurance directly from rental companies; this policy will provide the lessor with confirmation of property insurance coverage held by the agency. Owned property and property borrowed, leased, or rented from others by state agencies and state universities are also eligible for coverage. Equipment or vehicles licensed for road use are prohibited from coverage under this policy.
