Mountain Tunnel Improvement Project - Site Visit Tour

The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is offering a site tour of the Mountain Tunnel in anticipation of the advertisement of Contract No. HH-1000 (the Request for Qualifications is anticipated to advertise Spring 2019). The SFPUC is in a unique position to offer a tour of the tunnel during the current shutdown. Interested parties are encouraged to attend as there will not be another site tour offered after the advertisement of the contract.The Agenda for the Site Visit will be as follows: 9:00am-9:30am: Presentation of Scope of Work 9:30am-10:00am: Organize into city trucks or provided vans and travel to Priest Reservoir staging area for start of tour 10:00am-4:30pm: Site Tour Please RSVP by February 26, 2019 @4:30pm on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mountain-tunnel-contractor-tour-tickets-55933378240Attendance is limited to tunnel contractors. Two staff from each firm. Only contractors with tour reservations will be allowed to attend. Attendees are expected to bring their own PPE's for entry into the tunnel. This includes the following: -Muck boots or rubber safety boots for walking in several inches of water inside the tunnel. -Hard hat with cap lamp, or bring a flash light. -Rain jacket over warm clothing. There are water drops and infiltration in certain locations inside. The tunnel is about 50 degrees, and wind chill from ventilation is about 5 degrees or more. -A yellow or orange safety vest with reflective striping, if your rain jacket does not conform to this description. -Safety goggles/eye protection, or eye glasses with non shatter lenses. -Gloves to keep hands warm. The Priest site is a secured facility site. There will be no photography and no video by anyone on this tour.
