NOTES: The work covered under this solicitation shall consist of the labor, equipment, materials, tools, transportation, and incidentals necessary for mowing of project site to create access to the wooded area and reduce the number of adult vines and downed debris in as large of an area as possible. The project location is a wooded area that has mature oriental bittersweet vines that are degrading the quality of the forest and providing a seed source for further

infestations in the Winona area. The goal of the mowing project is to create access to the wooded area and reduce the number of adult vines and downed debris in as large of an area as possible, to facilitate follow up foliar treatments of smaller oriental bittersweet vines. The project map shows the priority area for the forestry mowing, and mowing should focus in circled area. Project manager will advise contractor on next priority area upon completion of circled area. All trees/brush should be mowed as low to the ground as possible, with minimal surface disturbance preferred. At a minimum, all trees/brush should be cut 3" or lower. Portions of the site are steep and possibly not accessible to machinery. Mower should have tracked wheels. It is preferred to have a drum-type cutting head over a flail head, and offset cutting teeth over straight teeth. Contractor must clean machinery prior to entry, and clean machinery upon completion of project and before moving offsite, to reduce the spread of oriental bittersweet.
