The City of Westfield shall receive General Bids at the Purchasing Office, 59 Court Street, Westfield, MA 01085, for the Construction of the 2.1 MG Pre-stressed Concrete East Mountain Road Water Storage Tank in Westfield, MA, until 2:00 P.M. prevailing time, Thursday October 17, 2019, at which time bids will be opened and publicly read aloud.  Bids submitted to the City of Westfield after this time will not be accepted.  The City of Westfield is not responsible for on time arrival of bids sent via FedEx, UPS, USPS, or other carriers.  A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on October 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at 59 Court Street, Westfield, MA 01085 room 315 to be followed by a site visit. The Work of this Contract generally consists of, but is not limited to, the construction of a 2.1 million gallon capacity precast, pre-stressed, wire wound, concrete water storage tank in Westfield, Massachusetts with associated piping and appurtenances, a Tideflex tank mixing system with associated recirculation pump, and site work.  Piping shall consist of approximately 950 linear feet of new 16-inch diameter ductile iron water main.  Other work includes access road improvements, stormwater improvements and the decommissioning and demolition of the existing 2.7 million gallon capacity, 55-foot tall, concrete storage tank located at the site.  The work of Additive Alternate A generally consists of the removal and proper disposal of approximately 850 linear feet of existing 16-inch diameter asbestos cement water main.
