Publication of a Supplement in the Journal of Infectious Disease (Oxford University Press)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed-price purchase order to the University of Oxford at 198 Madison Ave, Floor 8, New York, NY 10016-4308 for the publication of a supplement in the Journal of Infectious Disease, which is owned and maintained by the Oxford University Press. The JID Supplement on Infectious Diseases and Injection Drug Use will discuss how to track, treat, and prevent these infections and will include a Call toAction by the Infectious Disease Society of America and is the only source that canprovide this. If the Supplement is not published, CDC will miss an importantopportunity to: Mobilize primary care physicians and the wider medicalcommunity--including healthcare workers who care for people who inject drugs-tointegrate treatment for infections with treatment for drug use disorders. CDC needs to purchase a peer reviewed scientific supplement and there is no other source that can provide what the Oxford University Press provides. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be reviewed by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
