The project aims to reduce costs and improve the work environment to a more modern and efficient layout. Key to this goal is changing to office furniture that is more compact while still providing a safe and effective workspace for employees. The project is replacing furniture and shared workspaces so a common "look" is beneficial to support the professional environment.A large part of the overall justification of the project is the cost avoidance of more space while allowing vast improvements to the working environment. Also important is the cost avoidance of utilizing existing inventory of systems furniture, parts and pieces.PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The project will optimize the use of DFAS space within the AJC Federal Office Building and H5 Warehouse. These goals will be achieved through floor renovations, new furniture, CAT6 cabling, cubicle downsizing, improved hoteling options, and relinquishing floors to GSA.This plan will be executed as a continuous cycle.DFAS-CL currently has 554,994 Rentable Square Feet (RSF).Total RSF reduction by FY2023 projected to be 175,789, or 32%.DFAS is anticipating renovating 4 full floors and 3 partial floors.DFAS is seeking to purchase systems furniture to be compatible and integrated with our existing inventory of parts, and pieces as applicable. The Initial design and program was completed in December 2018.The pilot project for the Floor 23 is divided into potentially two projects: Installation of Demountable Walls, and Furniture "Typicals".DFAS-CL is unsure whether demountable walls will be done as part of the eventual BPA on the 23rd floor.Procurement of furniture needs to allow for delivery to support the project completion schedules.Project overall is to be completed by September 2023.The following attachments provide required details for review prior to Vendor Industry Day:Attachment A - 23rd Floor Layout - 1st PhaseAttachment B - Typicals - FurnitureAttachment C - Floor Plans "As-Is" for UpgradeAttachment D - Statement of Need (SON) (Draft)Attachment E - Existing System Furniture InventoryRESPONSE DUE DATE:All responses must be received by close of business (EST), Friday, 15 March 2019.Preferred delivery method for submission is via email:carrie.e.fairbanks.civ@mail.mil.INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESPONSE SUBMISSION:DFAS is seeking responses from all responsible sources.Interested respondents should submit a brief capabilities statement package clearly demonstrating the firm's ability to provide/perform the items/services listed.
