 SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSISRequest for Interested Manufacturers of AN/ALQ-161A ComponentsSUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the following four components of the AN/ALQ-161A Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) system: 5998-01-222-9567 - Dual Log Intermediate Frequency/Pulse Width Limiter (IF/PWL)5998-01-217-8012 - Encoder Circuit Card Assembly (CCA)5998-01-663-9533 - Log Intermediate Frequency (IF) Amplifier5998-01-224-4326 - Interface Logic CCAITEM DESCRIPTION: These items are part of the AN/ALQ-161A Electronic Countermeasures System installed on the B1-B aircraft. The Dual Log IF/PWL is a two-sided assembly containing two log IF detectors and two pulse-width limiter boards. The primary function of the Dual Log IF/PVTL is to convert the pulsed IF received from the DIDC into a video signal.  This assembly is used on the Frequency

Channelizer Line Replaceable Unit (LRU). The Parameter Encoder CCA is a digital logic assembly used in 13 places in the Encoder LRU to perform encoding functions for channels 2-14. The Log IF Amplifier is used in the IF Channelizer, which amplifies IF inputs from the Frequency Channelizer and provides 15 contiguous fine-frequency filter channels producing detected video outputs with amplitudes proportional (logarithmic) to the energy present in the IF pulse in the respective filter channel. The Interface Logic CCA (Logic Timing/Interface) receives and transmits signals between Logic I/O A1A1 and several other assemblies in the Band 5 Aft Transmitter Power Supply Assembly.  IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION:  The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for each of these NSNs is Harris Corporation (CAGE 82340) - formerly AIL Systems Inc. based on the Engineering Detail Drawings. The Government does not own the data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of the requirements for the four NSNs listed herein.  As a result, Harris Corporation is the only known source with adequate knowledge of these items' performance requirements and possession of the required technical capabilities needed to produce these items and ensure compatibility with their respective next higher assemblies. INTEREST: The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to EDO Corporation for the manufacture of the four listed NSNs in support of the AN/ALQ-161A program.  Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 15 days from date of release of SSS date by emailing Kimberly Urzua at kimberly.urzua@us.af.mil and/or dla.dlr.proc@us.af.mil.
