The proposer shall include a schedule of work to be performed and include all labor, materials and equipment costs necessary to remove and/or transplant existing plants; prepare and amend the soil (add new soil where necessary); and install the new plants, shrubs and trees, according to the Library's landscape plan. All planting areas shall be mulched. Additionally, three trees need to be removed with two being replaced with a different variety.This project requires compliance with the Illinois Department of Labor prevailing wage rates for Champaign County, Illinois. BackgroundThe landscape areas around The Urbana Free Library have become overgrown in some areas and sparse in others. The majority of plantings were installed

during the 2005 remodel, some of which are nearing the end of their life cycle. The Library contracted with Country Arbors to create an upgraded landscape plan that will lower maintenance requirements while adding plants more compatible with the environmental conditions. The plan will utilize some of the existing plants, either by leaving in place or transplanting, and also will add new varieties of plants, shrubs and trees. The landscape plan for this RFP will utilize plants with different bloom rates to enhance the aesthetics of the Library.It is recommended that the winning Contractor engage with a Certified Arborist for tree removal.The successful proposal will provide:· a detailed proposal for how the Contractor would proceed with completing this landscape plan,· all associated costs,· a time schedule for completion, and· a schedule for ongoing maintenance, including watering schedules, fertilizing and trimming needs, and any other work that would be needed to maintain the planting areas post-completion.When removing plants that will not be reused, the Contractor should separate the viable plants so they can be offered to the public free of charge.
