The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) serves theeducational needs of the dependents of military and civilian employees byproviding PK-12 instruction to approximately 71,000 students in 163 brick-and-mortar schools. Student enrollment varies based primarily on deployment ofmilitary troops worldwide. In the Americas, DoDEA operates 51 schoolslocated in seven states, Puerto Rico, and Cuba. In Europe and the MiddleEast, DoDEA operates 65 schools located in Germany, Italy, England,Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Turkey and Bahrain. In the Pacific, DoDEAoperates 47 schools located in Korea, Japan (mainland and Okinawa), andGuam. DoDEA's curriculum, resources, and student achievement scores onstandardized assessments compare favorably to those of high-performing USpublic school systems. DoDEA's fully accredited Virtual High School hasteaching hubs in each DoDEA region: US, Europe, and Pacific.DoDEA requires to provide students and teachers with up-to-date courseware for the Health Science and Culinary Arts Career Pathways. DoDEA offers five high school courses to students in grades 10-12: Culinary Arts I, Culinary Arts II, Health Science I, Health Science II and Pharmacy Tech. The Culinary Arts Pathway is offered at the following high schools: Alconbury, Ernest J. King, Hohenfels, Humphreys, Kadena, Kaiserslautern, Kubasaki, Lejenue, Matthew C. Perry, Naples, Niles C. Kinnick, Osan, Ramstein, Edgren, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Yokota, Zama. The Health Science Certified Nursing Pathway is offered at the following schools: Humphreys, Ramstein, Kaiserslautern, Lejeune, Guam. The Health Science Pharmacy Tech Career pathway is offered at the following high school: Kadena. Additional high schools may offer the pathways in subsequent years.
