Apr 12, 2019 5:19 pm The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract to WedMD Health Corp. of New York, NY

The purpose of this procurement is develop and promote online continuing education courses for physicians and other care professionals on optimal ways to implement screening for colorectal cancer. Materials from the CDC continuing education courses on "Screening for Colorectal Cancer: Optimizing Quality" will be incorporated by the contractor into new courses that include updated information and are in easily accessible online formats such as a video lecture and clinical anthology.
WebMD is a leading provider of health information services to health care professionals including physicians and nurses. Medscape Education, a subsidiary of WebMD Health Corporation, is the leading online destination for continuing medical education (CME).
To the best of the Government's knowledge, no commercially
available product exists in the marketplace that will provide the size, scope, or number of clinicians offered by WebMD. WebMD, through Medscape Education, has extensive experience producing online continuing education courses for health care professionals through its Medscape website. Over 1 million clinicians have participated in Medscape's accredited federally sponsored medical education activities. By virtue, WebMD is uniquely qualified and capable of carrying out the requirement of this proposed contract.
The anticipated award date is 30 Aug 2019.
This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available.
Firms that believe they can provide this requirement are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification, as well as, a capability statement to the contracting office by 12:00 p.m. eastern standard time 12 May 2019. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within its discretion. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
