INTENT:
The intent of this solicitation is to enter into a contract for the removal and disposal of litter along designated Maricopa County (County) highways and adjacent right of ways (ROW). This contract also includes providing support to the Adopt-A-Highway Volunteer Program. The contractor shall provide these services on both a scheduled and unscheduled basis as deemed necessary by the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT). Highway litter removal and disposal services support Maricopa County in its role as stewards of the environment by maintaining and improving the landscapes around Maricopa County

roadways through the removal of litter and debris.  In addition, this service keeps drivers safe from road hazards and distractions while improving the image of our roadways.
 
The contract will cover three service zones totaling approximately 850 centerline miles of County highways and adjacent ROW areas  (
refer to Exhibit 6, Service Area Map) . Respondents may respond to service an individual zone or multiple zones. There is no requirement to bid all three zones.

Northwest Maintenance District –  North of I-10 and west of 83
rd Ave.
Northeast Maintenance District – Northeast of I-10 and east of 83
rd Ave.
South Maintenance District – South of I-10 to State Route 238 and west from Arizona Mile Post 24.
 
“Litter” shall be defined as those items identified in Section 2.2.

MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME Times listed for pre-bid meetings, Q and A, and Bid Close are in Mountain Standard Time.


EVALUATION AND AWARD Award is made at the sole discretion of the solicitation issuing Department.  Maricopa County reserves the right to award in full or in part to a single vendor or multiple vendors.
