If you have you have any questions/concerns, please let me know atDaniel.Lenz@usace.army.mil (email).*******************************************************************The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), San Francisco District hereby provides a PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE for the upcoming construction project titled: "Research and Veterinary Medical Unit Facility, Building 40, San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center."The Government anticipates the advertisement to be issued within the next 14-30 calendar days. This procurement will be advertised under full and open competition utilizing a Best Value Trade-off source selection process, in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Subpart 15. The resultant contract from this procurement will be a firm fixed price agreement. The estimated price range for this work is between: $100M - $250M. Companies interested in the upcoming advertisement must be capable of bonding the estimated project amount.This Design-Bid-Build (DBB) construction project will consist of building a new research and veterinary medical unit facility, Building 40, for the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC) in San Francisco, California. The project will be for the construction of 110,000 SF four story building comprised of a steel framed structure with glass curtain walls supported by seismically designed concrete foundation. Interior office and laboratory spaces will be drywall construction with connecting corridors leading to the stairwell exists. An elevator will be constructed to provide vertical access to each of the floors. A mechanical penthouse located on the roof of the structure will provide the climate control. A new 3,000 SF below grade connecting corridor will be constructed from Building 40 with the adjacent veterinary facility, Building 41. Demolition includes removal of the existing water tower adjacent to the site, along with buildings 14, 18, 21, and the 911 building. Asbestos and lead based paint abatement is required. Supporting facilities include the construction of six underground water storage tanks. One water storage tank replaces the water tower for the SFVAMC fire protection delivery system. As this project is designated a mission critical facility, an emergency generator and associated below grade fuel storage supply tanks are included. Site work includes new utilities/connections, sidewalks, paving, and landscaping. Work will follow USACE business process and submittal requirements. The new Building 40 will require LEED Silver accreditation upon completion of construction. The performance period for this project is 1,217 calendar days.Companies interested in the advertisement of this project should monitor FBO for the advertisement in the next 14-30 calendar days.
