TITLE: Wet Standpipe Fire in the L Line Tunnel
PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING/SITE INSPECTION: June 12, 2019
PROPOSAL DUE DATE: June 25, 2019
ESTIMATED COST: $550,000 - $600,000
SUMMARY OF SCOPE: The scope of the L Line Wet Standpipe project. It is to furnish a new fire protection system in the L Line Tunnel that is Consistent with other wet standpipe in tunnels throughout the District. Installation of a new public hydrant at the end of Lynn Court, including valves, installation of buried pipe that enters the BART ROW, with new double detector check, post indicator valve, fire department connection , flow sensor and transition to above-grade, wall-mount piping, support and bracing of wet standpipe along sound wall, retaining wall (highway abutment), along tunnel walls, and along the walls of the open cut between highway lanes south of the tunnel and furnish the standpipe in the tunnels with fire hose valves and isolation valves.
