The work along Imperial Highway consists of traffic signal and ITS improvements which includes furnishing and installing traffic signal cabinets on new foundations, Type II and III service enclosures, PVC conduit, pull boxes, traffic signal poles and mast arms, luminaires mast arms, vehicle heads, countdown pedestrian signal heads, internally illuminates street name signs (IISNS), accessible pedestrian signal push buttons, push button posts, signs, video detection systems, CCTV cameras, fiber optic cable, advanced transportation controllers, malfunctioning monitoring units (MMU), fiber distribution units, fiber patch panels, splice vaults and enclosures, and ethernet switches. The work at the city maintenance yard includes new PVC and galvanized rigid steel conduit, pull boxes, fiber optic cable, splice vaults and enclosures, and fiber distribution unit in the server room. The work includes modifying the existing TOC workstation to integrate the upgraded controller to the existing Centracs ATMS and ITS elements. In addition, ADA ramps are being reconstructed along the corridor. The project also includes roadway, ADA ramp, traffic signal, and signing and striping improvements at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Hoxie Avenue. The scope of work at this location entails constructing a 12’ right turn bay in the westbound direction, which included reconstructing the ADA ramp, sidewalk, curb and gutter, spandrel, cross-gutter, catch basin, and asphalt concrete and the construction of a concrete collar to connect the new catch basin to the existing 18” reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) lateral outlet. The pedestrian ramp at the northwest corner is also being reconstructed to ADA standards. The improvements require a traffic signal modification which includes new traffic signal poles, pull boxes, and conduit. In addition, signing and striping improvements are being proposed.
