TITLE: Powell Street Station Modernization Project
PRE-BID MEETING/FIRST SITE INSPECTION: August 5, 2019
BIDS DUE DATE: September 24, 2019
ESTIMATED COST: $15 million to $18 million
SUMMARY OF SCOPE: Provide various upgrades in the Powell Street Station for accessibility and passenger flow. This includes demolition of the break room at Hallidie Plaza, relocation of the ticket vending machines, adding/redistributing TVM/AFC machines throughout the two ticketing areas, including installation of new conduits wired and fiber, adding/relocating fare gates, service gates, and adding new 5’ fare barriers at the two paid areas. Relocation of art tiles and installation of new ceiling art lightbox. Asbestos abatement of existing beams and columns, application of new fireproofing and column cladding. New platform and trackway lighting, accessing conduit throughout SFMTA platform above. Optional work, such as construction of an ADA accessible ramp in Hallidie Plaza, and removal and replacement of the platform tiles, plus benches, may be included, at the discretion of the District, subject to available funding.
