New York State has the most aggressive climate and clean energy initiative in the nation, calling for an orderly and just transition to clean energy that creates jobs and continues fostering a green economy. Enshrined into law through the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, New York is on a path to achieve its mandated goal of a zero-emission electricity sector by 2040. New York is focused on driving down energy demand by investing more than $6.8 billion in building energy efficiency and clean heating initiatives through 2025. As a result of the Public Service Commission’s “New Efficiency: New York 2.0” order, $2 billion in utility energy efficiency and building electrification initiatives are underway.Addressing the residential sector is an essential component to meeting these climate and energy goals. In order to meet these goals, by 2030 we must be on pace to upgrade more than 200,000 homes per year to all-electric and energy efficient. To accomplish this, we need to engage with a broad spectrum of market actors with expertise in the residential sector – spanning across single-family to multifamily, retrofits and new construction.The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is issuing this Request for Qualifications (RFQL) 4902 to establish a pool of contractors who have expertise in one or more areas of residential energy efficiency and clean energy.
