NSWCPD has a requirement for all activities associated with DDG-51 FLTI (Flight), FLTII, FLTIIA (Legacy, Modernization and New Ship Construction), FLTIII & HED (Hybrid Electric Drive), Modernization and Obsolescence Machinery Control Systems (MCS), Damage/Casualty control Plotting Systems, Fuel Control Systems (FCS) and Integrated Bridge Control system, computer program development, testing, equipment harvesting, and installation for ship construction
The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to procure 25,000 hours of specialized technical engineering services on a sole source basis from Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, 2323 Eastern Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21220-4207 in support of the DDG51 ship class Machinery Control Systems (MCS) under current production contract N00024-18-C-4208.
If Machinery Control systems fail the vessel is rendered unable to move on its own power. In order to maintain and maximize the useful life of these systems NOAA is looking for the OEM to inspect and maintain the vessels' Machinery Control systems. This is to include proper function of all components.
The NOAA ships Henry Bigelow, Oscar Dyson, Ronald Brown, and Nancy Foster have highly specialized Machinery Control systems. These Machinery Control systems monitor and control all machinery on the vessels, including diesel generators, propulsion systems, pumps, alarms and tanks. If Machinery Control systems fail the vessel is rendered unable to move on its own power.
