In line with the waste hierarchy, it is first preferable to prevent wasted food, followed by donating food to people. For this reason, this RFP focuses specifically on prevention of wasted food and food rescue. Other management methods with less environmental benefit are not eligible for this RFP including food-to-animals, composting, anaerobic digestion, waste-to-energy, and landfilling.

The District participates in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program and is required to use the nonprofit food service funds, to the maximum extent practical, to buy domestic commodities or products for Program meals.
The Contractor shall provide all food items ordered (canned goods, dry goods, fresh meats, frozen meats, fresh produce, dairy products, bread products, etc.) from the facility and deliver to approximately 12 locations across the State of Oklahoma, to include Fort Chaffee AR. The Government reserves the right to add and/or remove delivery locations and food items supporting the Military Culinary Specialists’ mission for the OKARNG.7.
